![]() Dr. Cheng is a Board Certified psychiatrist who offers medication management and psychotherapy. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Riverside. She received her M.D. from the University of California, Irvine. She completed her Psychiatry residency at the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program. She stayed at the program for a Psychopharmacology Fellowship and was certified by the UCLA Anxiety Disorders Program. During her fellowship, she also worked at the UCLA Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Intensive Treatment Program. Dr. Cheng believes in patient education, advocacy, and empowerment. In her fellowship, she was the psychiatrist at the HIV Clinic at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. For several years, she has cared for the underserved mentally ill at Asian Pacific Counseling and Treatment Centers. She speaks Mandarin and Tagalog, and utilizes her language skills when needed to provide culturally sensitive care. Dr. Cheng has a particular interest in women’s mental health. During her training at the Sepulveda Veterans Affairs Medical Center, she worked closely with female veterans on their mental health problems. Currently, she works with women on issues of adolescence, young adulthood, relationships, parenthood, and other life concerns. Dr. Cheng enjoys working with young adults. She has provided medication management and psychotherapy for students at the Cal State Northridge University Counseling Center. She is currently a referral psychiatrist for students at the California Institute of Technology and Occidental College. Dr. Cheng is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Southern California Psychiatric Society. |
